The Apostles Creed (Bible Study)

Updated: Apr 23

The Apostles Creed affirms the major points of the Christian Faith, and through its distribution, the early church fathers established the definitive Christian doctrines that were believed by and practiced within the church. Summarizing the Apostles' teachings, the Apostles' Creed also professes what Christians believe about the persons and work of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Trinity)

The Apostles Creed is still used today in some Christian Worship Services as a statement of faith by those present and often found useful in Biblical Christian Teaching.

What follows is a Bible Study identifying many of the scriptures involved in the development of the doctrines found within the Apostles Creed.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
